Wooll / Jake McKelvie & His New Old Band / Museum Legs

  • Myrtle 134 Waterman Avenue East Providence, RI, 02914 United States (map)

Providence indie group Wooll craft warm, immersive songs that balance patience and emotional depth. Formed by members of Kid Mountain, the band debuted with Unwind (2024), a collection praised for its gentle cohesion and understated beauty. Their upcoming sophomore record, due spring 2025, builds on that foundation with sharper edges and individual moments to shine. The first single, “Thistle,” pairs Corinne Roma’s smooth, rhythmic vocals with Tyler Rosenholm’s melodic guitar work—an evolution of Wooll’s inviting sound into something moodier, yet still comforting and deeply human.

Jake McKelvie has traveled the DIY touring circuit in the US and UK for over a decade, carving out a niche for himself as a songwriter and performer. Known for his off-kilter "stream of self-consciousness" lyricism and charming stage demeanor, he keeps audiences engaged both as a solo performer or with his newly minted backing band, “the New Old Band". He released his latest LP "A New Kind of Hat" in 2024 and has been touring in support of that since.

Formed by Penn Sultan (Last Good Tooth) and MorganEve Swain (Brown Bird), Providence duo Museum Legs blend stripped-down folk with intimate, intertwining vocals and subtle instrumental textures. Their 2024 album In All For Starting Over highlights the pair’s natural chemistry — Sultan’s low, steady tone balancing Swain’s airy melodies over warm, acoustic arrangements. Rooted in Rhode Island’s folk lineage yet refreshingly original, Museum Legs craft songs that feel handmade and human, rich with nuance, rhythm, and quiet emotional depth.
