Booking Guide

HELLO

MYRTLE is a neighborhood bar, music venue, and vintage store run by a husband and wife duo. We are an independent local business; as mom and pop as it gets. We don’t have the same staffing and financial resources as a corporate venue, so we appreciate the patience and support we receive from our patrons and local artists. That lets us keep our unique MYRTLE charm, and it allows us to operate sustainably and stay true to what we love most– cool art, great friends, and delicious drinks.

Because of the fragility of our business, and our personal commitment to music, performance and community, we ask all bands inquiring about booking to read the following carefully before reaching out.

EXPECT A 2-4 WEEK TURNAROUND

Thank you for sending us your proposal! We are a tiny team with many hats, who also work full shifts alongside our powerhouse bar staff. Please be patient, don’t panic, and don’t send repeat emails or phone calls before the 30 day mark. If you are hoping to book a specific date and need faster attention, please specify so in your email subject line or at the top of your DM.

OUR SHOWS ARE FREE

We pay bands out of our pocket, so please take the time to promote your shows. We’re proud to offer a business model that makes art accessible to all! Many patrons come for the bar, but will become your new fans by the end of the night. To keep this mission sustainable, we can offer bands $100 per gig.

Guarantees higher than $100 are subject to review by production, and will not be considered without a press kit.

ORIGINAL ACTS ARE PRIORITY

We prioritize artists who are presenting their own, original material. This includes DJ nights, special event ideas, and one-offs outside the ‘bands’ category. Cover bands may be considered for Saturday and Sunday afternoons and certain events, but our priority is always original music.

WE’RE A NEIGHBORHOOD BAR

.We are located in a mixed use/residential area, so we must be mindful of our neighbors, or we will not last. This means it is the band's responsibility to play at a reasonable volume, not block driveways, not talk loudly outside of the building, and most importantly adhere to times.

GEAR AND BACKLINE

When you submit your proposal, let us know what you need for a set-up.

NO ASSHOLES

We have a zero-asshole policy. If your band, event team, or any associated individuals are found promoting any form of hate, homophobia, xenophobia, or misogyny—from our stage or on other platforms—we’ll cancel your event immediately. This includes voiding any existing financial agreements, however we will invite you to have an honest, calm review of any issues or accusations that have arisen.

WE CAN’T AFFORD TO NOT BE OPEN

If you are unable to follow the rules, we will ask you once to correct it (turn down, move your car, etc.) then we will completely stop the show and you will not be paid.

We understand these rules may be limiting to your band, but as a small business we must stick to these guideline to insure we’re able to bring music and creativity to our community for many years to come.
