Roger Clark Miller, best known as a founding member of Mission of Burma, brings his “Unplugged from a Band” project to the stage as a raw, inventive solo performance of guitar, voice, and occasional loops. Drawing from decades of music alongside new songs written specifically for this format, Miller creates an intimate but energetic set that is anything but typical singer-songwriter fare.
with support by new band MODIFIED (Keough / West / Harper)
MODIFIED is a noisy post-punk trio hailing from East Providence, Rhode Island, distilling song forms of swagger and swing with deeply emotive vocals.
(Bill) KEOUGH (Guitars, Vocals), (Brian) WEST (Drums, Chops, Etc.), and (Andy) HARPER (Bass) met over the last few years at the Myrtle, brought together by their love of all things music. KEOUGH, a moving map pin for decades in the Providence music scene, was itching to play out as a band again after years of performing solo, and the coming together of WEST and HARPER presented that opportunity. So here they are—going by bolded last names and going boldly, headfirst, into this new din.
