Prairie Bird is an indie folk duo based in Southern Rhode Island. Vincent Frederick (formerly of Detroit power-pop band The Singles) and his wife Melinda Frederick formed the group in 2025 after moving to the east coast from Los Angeles. Together they create the dynamic vocal harmonies that are central to Prairie Bird’s music. Vincent brings the magic on electric and acoustic guitar, while Melinda holds down the rhythm on various drums and percussion. Their individual songwriting styles come together to create their unique, eclectic, and rootsy sound.
