High Planes // Nanny // Dyr Faser

  • Myrtle 134 Waterman Avenue East Providence, RI, 02914 United States (map)

High Planes is a Rhode Island band that leans heavily into vocal harmony and rich instrumentation. Their sophomore album, “Ghost Town,” won the 2022 Motif RI Music Awards, “Americana Album of the Year,” and their latest full-length, “Sweet Vacancy” has been nominated in the same category for the 2025 awards. Featuring members who have played in some of RI’s prominent ska, reggae, jazz, stoner rock and indie bands, their style is best described as a messy blend of all it.

Nanny is a rock band from Western Massachusetts formed in 2016. Their sound is influenced by power-pop, punk, and 90’s grunge. Their first LP ‘Can’t Remember, Can’t Forget’ was issued on vinyl and cassette in 2021 by Bloated Kat Records and Midnight Werewolf Records.

DYR FASER, for us, is kind of a “Gotcha!” band as they seemingly drop releases out of nowhere and when they do they’re not only a pleasant surprise but also constantly contain the kind of music that just sticks with you. New release Falling Stereos is no different with 10 all new tracks of pure modern Alt Rawk bliss from the duo of Amelia May and Eric Boomhower.”
